Ultimate La Union DIY Guide 2017

Hey hey hey hungry people! Summer is finally here and I just want to share  our Ultimate La Union DIY guide for this year! Grab your shades and swimmies because with less than Php 3000.00 you can enjoy the beach, waves, and the food of La Union.

La Union Beach front – Floatsam & Jetsam

What to do in La Union?

  • Get the chill vibe at Floatsam & Jetsam Hostel

Floatsam & Jetsam is a place for artsy people. It is very unique place to stay in San Juan, La Union.
The price is very reasonable, as low as Php 780 pesos/night you can get their dorm type rooms where
you can meet new people. PS. In our case we booked the whole dorm for ourselves(We are 8 in group).

  • Try El Union Coffee’s Grilled Cheese and Horchata

Thumbs up for this drink! Horchata by El Union Coffee #horchata #elunioncoffee #foodporn #foodstagram #launion #musttry #huaweip9

One word to describe El Union Coffee’s Grilled Cheese: Damn.

I just want to take home the whole store after eating their Grilled Cheese. I’m definitely head over heels by their mouthwatering version of Grille Cheese plus the fact that they added Sriracha as dippin’ sauce. *me want to go back there immediately but its 10:46 in the evening*

  • Trekking at Tangadan Falls

1 hour trekking is really worth it when you see the beautiful falls of Tangadan. It is located at San Gabriel, La Union. Just be careful because the rocks are very slippery.

Contact number: 0995 643 7922

Guide Fee: Php 100/head

Environmental Fee: Php 30.00/head

Life jacket rental: Php 50.00

Tricycle Roundtrip (San Juan – San Gabriel – San Juan) – Php 100.00/head

  • Visit Ma-cho Temple

It is really refreshing to visit this peaceful temple located in San Fernando La Union. Taking pictures is allowed inside the premises but “dating” is no no.

  • Try Grapes Picking at Mangguera Grapes Farm

For Php 20.00 entrance fee, you can enjoy seeing this grapes farm located at Bauang, La Union. I really enjoy walking under grapes’ vines and taking my pictures underneath, it feels like I’m in the province of Italy or something. Plus you must try their Homemade Grapes Wine. I really love it! It so sweet with a little kick of alcohol for only Php 150.00 per 1 liter bottle.

  • Fill your tummies at Halo-halo de Iloko

Home-cooked Filipino food. I must say, long lines is so worth it. Since the restaurant itself is a house on a very simple residential area. The space is quite small so expect long lines outside. Why long lines? It is because every food that we ate is ohhh-so-indescribable especially their Okoy with their own dipping vinegar for Php 90.00 pesos. Its really good appetizer and their famous Halo-halo for Php 99.00 pesos. Take a spoonful of it and beat the summer heat!
